Synonym : Shore Hardness Tester, Digital Shore Hardness Tester, Shore Hardness Meter, Durometer, Shore Durometer, Shore A Hardness Meter, Shore C Hardness Meter, Shore D Hardness Meter
Caltech India offers Digital Shore Hardness Tester. Shore Hardness Tester is used to determine the relative hardness of soft materials, usually plastic or rubber. It is also known as Durometer.
This is the newest type Shore hardness meter in the market, which is used for Shore hardness testing with pocket size model and integrated probe. With RS 232 interface and can be switched off automatically. The meter screen can show hardness result, average value, max. value directly.
The hardness numbers are derived from a scale. The hardness value is often used to identify or specify a particular hardness of elastomers or as a quality control measure on lots of material. Shore A and Shore D hardness scales are common, with the A scale being used for softer and the D scale being used for harder materials.
In its scale, higher numbers specify a more superior resistance to indentation and therefore harder materials. So, the less the cone deforms the sample, the higher material hardness. Lower numbers on the durometer scale indicate lesser resistance to indentation and softer materials, so the more the cone deforms the sample, the lesser the hardness of the material.
Standards: DIN 53505, ASTM D2240, ISO 7619, JISK 7215
Shore A is designed to measure the penetration hardness of rubber, elastomers and other rubber like substances such as neoprene, silicone, and vinyl. It can also be used for soft plastics, felt, leather and similar materials.
Shore C is designed for various foam and sponge.
Shore D is designed for plastics, Formica, Epoxies and Plexiglas.
We also carry out repair and calibration of shore a hardness tester / durometer / shore d hardness tester in India. To know more about digital shore hardness tester price, contact us.
