Shore Hardness Tester

A CES 202 Shore Hardness Tester is a portable instrument used to measure the hardness of rubber, plastics, and elastomeric materials by determining their resistance to indentation. It is commonly available in Shore A for soft materials and Shore D for harder plastics, making it ideal for quality control, material comparison, and production inspection across rubber and plastic industries.

Category: Coating Inspection, Hardness Tester

Caltech India is the leading manufacturer and supplier of CES 202 Shore Hardness Tester (also called a shore durometer). Analog Shore Hardness Tester is one of the modern non-destructive testing instruments for measuring the hardness value of different materials at the workshops and laboratories. Shore Durometer measures the hardness of soft elastomeric materials by pressing a spring-loaded indenter into the surface and reading how far it penetrates — deeper = softer, shallower = harder. Results are given on the Shore A scale (typically 0–100). Shore Hardness Tester complies with requirement of standards such as DIN 53505, ASTM D2240, ISO 7619, ISO 868, JISK 7215.

There are several scales of durometer, used for materials with different properties. The two most common scales, using slightly different measurement systems, are the ASTM D2240 type A and type D scales. The A scale is for softer ones, while the D scale is for harder ones.

This device can be used at the radio instruments industry, mechanical engineering and other areas of modern industry. Our range of shore round style durometer is offered to the clients for the purpose of evaluating the hardness of different types of material like cellular, soft & hard rubber and plastic. Their compact size and design allows our clients to carry these products in their pockets, easily. Moreover, the rugged construction of these Shore Analog Durometers enables efficient performance, even in the most hostile conditions.

Applications:

Shore A Hardness Tester (shore durometer): rubber and elastomer products, soft plastics (PVC, TPU, TPE), silicone rubber components, o-rings, seals, and gaskets, rubber sheets, mats, and flooring, hoses and flexible tubing, footwear soles and shoe components, automotive rubber parts (bushings, mounts, seals), cable insulation and sheathing, medical-grade rubber and soft polymer products, foam rubber (medium-density), quality control and incoming material inspection, R&D and material formulation testing and similar materials.

Shore D Hardness Tester (shore durometer): hard plastics and rigid polymers, engineering plastics (abs, nylon, polycarbonate, acrylic), thermoplastics and thermosets, hard rubber and high-durometer elastomers, plastic sheets, rods, and molded parts, FRP and composite materials, epoxy and resin products, injection-molded components, automotive plastic parts, electrical housings and enclosures, pipes, fittings, and profiles, quality control and production inspection, material comparison and R&D testing etc.
