Hiding Power Checker Board

Caltech India is the manufacturer and supplier of CES 997 Hiding Power Test Board. The Hiding Power Test Board is a precision testing panel used to evaluate the hiding power, opacity, contrast ratio, and covering ability of paints, coatings, inks, and other pigmented materials. It provides a standardized black-and-white contrast surface for visually or instrumentally determining how effectively a coating conceals the substrate beneath it. It is widely used in paint and coating laboratories, quality control departments, R&D laboratories, and manufacturing facilities for comparing coating formulations and checking batch-to-batch consistency.

The test board consists of contrasting black and white areas, allowing the difference in coating appearance over each surface to be assessed. It is a glass board which is printed 16 white squares and 16 black squares. Every square size is 25mm x 25mm. It is used to check the hiding power of paints. The surface is covered with glass and can be reused, saving costs. Operator brush some paint on it surface till can’t see white square and black square completely, then weight the used paint and divide the whole area (200cm2), use g/cm2 to express this paint hiding power capacity. It is a easy and fast method to test hiding power of paints.
