The Paint Impact Resistance Tester is used for testing of painted panels, coated panels, aluminum material, coated rebar steel, and galvanized sheets and more. It is also known as Coating Impact Tester or Falling Weight Impact Tester (for coatings). This Impact Test Apparatus (Paint/Coating) is a very simple to use and ideal for evaluating the resistance of a coating to impact (elongation, cracking or peeling), and is suitable for use on both direct and indirect test methods. In Direct method: Either a weight with a hemispherical punch attached falls on to a coated metal sheet. And in Indirect method: a weight falls on to a hemispherical punch which is resting on the coated metal sheet. Built with an anodized guide tube, interchangeable weights, and precision dies, the CES 562 delivers highly repeatable results in compliance with international standards such as ASTM D2794, ASTM D5420, ISO 6272-1, ASTM G14, ASTM D6905, and IS 13620.

In accordance with ISO standard, the test panel is fixed on the die using a clamping device, so that the panel surface outside the test area is not affected by the rapid deformation caused by the falling weight.

Anodized guide tube of 1.5m heights with a scale inches & mm tolerance. Falling weights with ±1 g and maximum failing weight 0.50 kg, 1 kg, 1.361 kg, 1.8 kg, or 2 kg exchangeable falling weights and plain and curved dies as per customer choice is available.

We provide Paint Impact Testers confirming to various international standards such as ASTM D2794, ASTM D5420, ISO 6272-1, ASTM G14, ASTM D6905, and IS13620 standards. This can be easily converted for testing in accordance with specific requirements.

The paint impact tester consists of a solid base stand with a guide tube support. The guide tube has a slot that directs a cylindrical weight that is sided up and down with the use of a collar that fits into the weight. Graduations are marked along the slot to facilitate reading where the weight is dropped. The base of the instrument includes a die support or flat support or a V-notch vise with spring clamp as per selection of model. The weights have built-in hardened steel balls that provide different geometrical configurations as per models given in table. Paint Impact Tester has rigid structure with corrosion resistant main body.
