Surface Temperature Indicator
Caltech Engineering Services offers paint impact tester is used for testing of paints or coatings on metal substrates and rebar coatings. In accordance with ISO standard, the test panel is fixed on the die using a clamping device, so that the panel surface outside the test area is not affected by the rapid deformation caused by the falling weight.
Anodized guide tube of 1.5 Mtr heights with a scale inches & mm tolerance. Falling weights with ± 1 g and maximum failing weight 0.50 kg, 1 kg, 1.5kg, 1.8 Kg, or 2 Kg exchangeable falling weights and plain and curved dies as per customer choice is available.
Falling drop range: 0.6 to 1.25 Mtr
Adjustable falling hemispherical indenter: 15.90 mm dia or 12.70 mm dia.
Confirms to ASTM D2794, ISO 6272-1, ASTM G14, D6905, IS13620, IS14246 standard. This can be easily converted for testing in accordance with specific requirements.
The impact tester consists of a solid base stand with a guide tube support. The guide tube has a slot that directs a cylindrical weight that is sided up and down with the use of a collar that fits into the weight. Graduations are marked along the slot to facilitate reading where the weight is dropped. The base of the instrument includes a die support. The weights have built-in steel balls that provide different geometrical configurations. It is important that the ball diameter fits into the die as to prevent shearing of the test samples at the inner rim of the die. In order to limit the indentation depth of the falling weight, distance rings of different thickness can be fitted. We also provide V grooved base for epoxy coated rebar.
